When a resident has limited abilities, I find that a familiar picture, a short instruction, and a little encouragement can be enough to begin a pleasant activity. The Memory Care Activity Book for Seniors: Volume 3 was created for those simple moments. It is a gentle printable option for a person living with Alzheimerโs or other forms of memory loss, with recognition, matching, counting, colouring, and word-search pages that can be offered one at a time.
This book includes a cover, nine activity pages, and an answer page. It works well as a quiet table activity, a one-to-one session, or a small-group resource when staff want easy worksheets for seniors that do not require a complicated setup.

How I use the book in an aged-care setting
Start with a familiar page
I usually begin with the naming page, matching game, or colour-in page. These are easy to introduce visually and do not require a resident to understand a long written instruction before taking part.
Prepare only what you need
Print the book once and keep the pages in an activity folder. For a short session, remove one worksheet and place it on a clear table with a dark pencil or marker. A thicker pencil may be more comfortable for someone with reduced grip strength or limited hand movement.
Use the page as a conversation prompt
The photographs and illustrations can be useful even when a resident does not want to write. Talk about cameras, film, pocket watches, drinks, animals, colours, or the beach scene. A resident can join the activity by looking, pointing, naming, choosing, or simply listening.
Finish with a positive stopping point
If the resident completes one row, finds one word, or colours one small section, that may be enough for the session. I put the page aside while the activity is still comfortable rather than turning it into a task that must be finished.
